Since 1944 Hillcrest Children’s Home has been providing Christian residential child care for homeless, abused, abandoned, neglected, orphaned or otherwise maltreated children and youth.  The campus is located in Hot Springs, AR and provides four residential programs:

  • Hillcrest Residential
  • Hillcrest Residential Treatment
  • Hillcrest Respite
  • Hillcrest Transitional Living

An on-campus Registered Nurse helps keep track of doctor/dental/optical appointments to ensure physical well-being of the children. The combination of a loving home with daily devotions, Biblical counseling and regular church attendance ministers to the spiritual needs of our residents.

Hillcrest Residential

Hillcrest Residential provides loving, family-style Christian cottage homes to boys and girls from vulnerable places. Children come from various referrals (state, courts, churches, and private families) with unique pasts.  Our trained staff minister healing with open arms and provide them an opportunity to redeem their future.

Placements are made by age and gender or sibling group with a houseparent couple who help to provide daily needs such as balanced diets, proper clothing, help with homework and much more.

Hillcrest Residential Treatment

Where do vulnerable children and youth from harder places and more severe maltreatment go for help and healing?  With COMPACT Residential Treatment Care, these precious but hurting children and youth are given a family-style, Christ-centered path to redemption. It has been said that “there are no throw-away children in this world.”  We believe all of them deserve redeeming care.  The Residential Treatment program gives them the extra care they need.  The program provides a cottage home with houseparents and surrounded with clinical professionals.  Together they work on behalf of a child’s physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual need and toward a subsequently fitting placement or family reunification.

Hillcrest Respite

Respite Care is available for foster children and youth so that foster families may gain temporary rest.  Respite Care sometimes serves to provide urgent shelter.  During difficult situations or when a home is facing crisis, Respite Care may be needed in an hour or less.  As needed, Respite Care provides homeless guests a pathway to one of our other COMPACT residential programs or foster homes.

Hillcrest Transitional Living Center

Our Transitional Living Center (TLC) is a 24-apartment building on the Hillcrest campus that provides a furnished apartment with a Christian community.  The program provides Hillcrest emancipating residents 18-21 years old a great growth environment toward independence.  These youths are ministered to and mentored by experienced staff as they endeavor trade school, college education or an apprenticing career.

The TLC program provides classes on independence, budgeting, job-seeking and more. They hold Bible studies, small groups and have multiple opportunities each week to fellowship as a community.

If you or someone you know is interested in helping our TLC program in any way, please contact TLC@compactfamilyservices.org.
